My name is Nicole Miazgowicz and I’m the artist & illustrator behind Lost Fern Goods. I launched LFG after many years of figuring out what area of art I wanted to focus on (being mainly self-taught with a theater performance degree!). It became apparent that stationery and products were the perfect fit. While I love the drawing process, I also love planning, organizing, making spreadsheets, crafting, and directly interacting with customers.

LFG was founded to bring the craft of storytelling and traditional illustration to modern products. I often draw inspiration from the natural world, old fairytales, magical realism, dark humor, my travels, and feelings of nostalgia. My ultimate goal is to bring a little magic to your every day life with goods that tell a story or jumpstart a memory; creating a bit of space in your busy day to let yourself get lost.

the process

All products start with hand-drawn illustrations and are either hand or digitally colored. After scanning the drawings and doing some basic clean-up in Photoshop, they are ready to be placed on products! Items are printed with a professional inkjet Epson printer on 100% recycled paper. All cards and prints are printed, cut, and packaged at my home in Detroit, MI. Other products, such as stickers and bookmarks, are produced as locally as possible.

environmental transparency

Being environmentally and socially responsible is very important to Lost Fern Goods. I’m committed to continue improving and changing the way LFG does things, especially as a new company. Sharing resources and being transparent about materials is also important, as it shouldn’t be so hard for other business owners to find the companies and resources that will help make our world a better place. This is one thing I’ll never be protective of or unwilling to share. You can read more in depth about LFG’s materials and practices here.
